Hi All,

Another nice turn out this week.  Let’s fill the room next week!  We enjoyed a very interesting talk by John Rubischko on his very personal experience with ethics.  I learned that we are faced with ethical decisions on such a frequent basis, and that one decision can snowball into a life-change.  It was inspiring to see how he has chosen to change his life around and present himself as an example to others.

Jason was surprised to learn he was song master this week.  However, he stepped up to the plate with a wonderfully lame song, which we all knew the words and tune.  John Crooks brought in some serious bucks with his fines – and a few off-the-mark jokes to give us a giggle too!

Rotary Happy Hour was great at Badger Hill this past Thursday evening.  Thanks so much to Joe Vaughan for bringing in the tasty treats and arranging for the social event.  It was nice to see lots of Rotary faces joining in the fun.

I stopped by Tokata Learning Center today for the Student of the Month celebration, but was a tiny bit late for the presentation, but in time for an ice-cream treat. Thanks to Libby for spearheading this program.  It was a pleasure to get a tour of the center and meet some students.

Next week:
We welcome speaker Sandy Sullivan talking on “Working for Vince Lombardi”.  I know plenty of our club members will be excited to hear her talk.  This is a great opportunity to invite a prospective new member to join us.

Mark McNeill returns from sunny climes as next week’s song master, and Deb Erickson will work to remove some sawbucks from our wallets as fine master!  Next week’s greeters are Joan Lynch, Jason Marschall and Jim Mahoney.

Mark your calendars:
March 5 – Rotary Happy Hour at Turtles Bar & Grill
March 31 – Loaves & Fishes

News:
I had the pleasure to meet with Bill & Barb Runge, Jack Cole and Tony Spagnolo this week to talk about our club’s history.  What a gas!  These guys had so many wonderful stories, but they also have me a bit afraid to open the door to our storage closet.  Seems like that closet was crammed with old-stuff.  Who wants to join me to inventory the closet?

NEEDED:
Volunteers to help plan our 60th Anniversary celebration.  The actual anniversary is in March, but we are hosting the celebration at a later date to allow us time to
put together a successful event.  Please contact Deb Erickson for details.

Light UP Rotary!

Cheers,
Kathleen Klehr
