Hi All,

Huge Thanks to Lorri Helkamp and her crew for a fantastic Shakopee Celebrates Reading program this p
ast Tuesday.  The high school auditorium was packed with excited and attentive first graders.  Harold, the Cat-in-the-Hat (Chuck Berg), and the singer (sorry I didn’t catch his name), were very well loved by the audience.  I’m so proud to be a member of the Shakopee Rotary Club and to be able to participate in this event.  Kudos all around!

We also enjoyed a visit from Fran Heitzman and presented him with a $1,000 check in support of Bridging. Remember – Lee Hennen needs some strong backs to help with Bridging on April 25.

Thanks also to everyone that attended Rotary Happy Hour at Arizona’s last evening – I'm sure a fun time was had by all (I was stuck at work & missed it).

Next week: ICEBREAKERS!  Amber Kahnke and Rick Meyer will regale us with tales of their backgrounds.  New greeters are Linda Plumb and Doug Schleif (p.s. please thank Libby Bergen for updating and organizing the greeter table list and stuff!)  The lovely Bob Greeley will teach us how to remove dollars from our wallets as fine master and the lovely Jeff Tate will lead us in a rousing song as song master. This should be a great meeting!!

*Book Sale* We need boxes – please save your boxes and contact Gary for drop-off/pick-up.  There’s still time to get involved in the book sale – collect some books, volunteer to staff a shift – it’s really easy and great fun (plus if you host a bin or collect 100+ books, your name goes into a drawing for some very cool prizes).  Be sure to get your name on the Preview Night sign-up list so we can arrange for drinks & treats.

Attached is Book Sale information to share with your friends, family & colleagues – let’s promote the heck out of this!  This is our major fundraiser for the year and we need all hands on deck.
