Dear Shakopee Rotary Club Members and Friends,

We welcome Friday with open arms. I am leaving this afternoon to pick up my mother and her best friend. As most of you know, I led them north right after the Tuesday meeting to head to our cabin near Bigfork. Well, in continuing the adventure, they were pulled over by a state trooper for speeding. I pulled over along with them. Adeline, my mother's friend, did not have her Driver's License name match her insurance card and along with a VIN # issue, we were stopped for over an hour. I guess two 85 year ladies looked fairly criminal to the trooper. Those two had lots of fun with it. Who knows what has happened at the cabin the past 3 days....

I am a bit behind on the 'Coffee with Crooks" meetings. Several of you should receive an email on Monday to set up a meeting. So far I am almost done with Committee Chairs and beginning to meet with the ladies in our club. It is truly eye opening as to all the that is being learned. Please let me know if you would like to meet before receiving an email invitation.

On Tuesday Art Quinn educated us on all the positives that have taken place in the past 20 years with GMO crops. Just yesterday. I read an article in Audubon magazine that talked about the many myths that are associated with GMO crops. The article reiterated almost everything Art told us...not that I didn't believe him in the first place....

Next Tuesday's September 22 meeting will feature a presentation by Minnesota State Trooper of the Year Joe Dellwo. Trooper Dellwo is from Shakopee, joined the State Patrol in 1999 and is now one of its most recognized and respected members. Joe will share stories, experiences and his insight into being a State Trooper. Maybe he would like to hear the story about my mother and her friend being pulled over....

For the Meeting:
Our Song Master will be Sarah Howe. So far Sarah has been a Fine Master, Sgt at Arms Greeter, a presenter with her Icebreaker, she is such a great new member to our Club.
Our Fine Master will be Amber Kahnke, so have plenty of dollar bills.
Our Greeter's Table will again be the trio of Sarah Howe, Jon McBroom and Joe Schmidt.

Thanks to every member for all they contribute to our Club. Without us working together it would be so difficult to accomplish all the positive things this Club offers to our Community. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Have a Wonderful Weekend,
John
