Good Afternoon Shakopee Rotary Club Members and Friends,

It is kind of dreary, grey and chilly outside, but as I always try to do, there are optimistic ways of looking at things. This cooler, slower time of season is meant for families being together, fires being stoked and time to make great meals for family and friends. Last November, I was playing hockey on the pond behind our house days before Thanksgiving and this year has been a string of beautiful 70 degree days. Being pessimistic about things  takes too much energy, so I look for silver linings and reasons to be thankful. The thankful list is never ending. I have a good friend who keeps a journal of things she is grateful for and her list is now over 1000 things.

Our meeting on Tuesday was very well attended. Thanks for being there. I am sure we all learned quite a bit about RiverSouth, Land of Big Fun and all this area has to offer. We know their Executive Director, Bill Van Horn (past Shakopee Rotary member) will do a great job driving visitors and tourists to this great area of the Twin Cities.

Our next meeting on November 10 will feature a presentation by the Fishing Professor, Terry Tuma. He will provide some tips on ice fishing in Minnesota. Are we ready for the ice yet?

At our Meeting:

Fine Master - John Crooks. Its been a long time, so bring your dollar bills
Song Master - Lou  Van Hout. In 10 years of having Lou as my boss, I don't think I even heard him whistle...let alone sing.
Greeter's Table - Deb Erickson, Lee Hennen and Dave Esposito

Thanks for everyone's efforts to make our Club as strong and vibrant as it can be. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

I hope everyone has a great weekend,
John
