Happy Valentines Weekend to all!

I hope you all got to celebrate in some way with the people you love and to do something special this weekend. Even though we love them all the year it is nice to do a little something extra on Valentines.
Speaking of Valentines, our lunch last week turned out to be a great event. The decorations, food and fun made for a nice day to be with our fellow Rotarians and some "special" guests. Our MC,  Jim Conway did a super job organizing our "Newlywed Game" and we thank our lovely newlywed "couples,"
Joan Lynch and Jon McBroom, Chris Kost and Dustin Campion, Joe Vaughan and Barb Danielson and finally, Team McNeill.  Questions were asked to see which couples knew each other the best, or didn't in some cases! The winning team was "Crustin" (Chris and Dustin) and they will receive a $20 Caribou gift card. All others players will receive a $5 Caribou gift card and prizes will be handed out to each of the participants at this week's meeting.  Our thanks also to Dave Paradise for his help with decorations and special thanks to Linda Plum who supplied us with her beautifully decorated Valentine cookies and purchased the roses which our members were able to take home that day. It was good to see everyone there and the special guests too.

This week we have our fellow club member, Rod Thompson, Shakopee School District Superintendent. He will speak to us in his annual, "State of the Schools" message and I am sure he will have updates on the referendum. So, come out to the meeting and get your questions ready, so that you can ask them of Rod. We look forward to having him present this week. You will be greeted by a new group this week. The team of John Crooks, Barb Danielson, and Deb Erickson are ready and waiting to collect your money from you. Finemaster this week is the man who knows how to build stuff, Mr. Kevin O'Brien and our Songmaster this week, the woman not afraid to throw her voice around, the always funny, Kathy Klehr.

Also, if you didn't attend last week, you haven't seen the new badges. There will be a new badge with the magnetic backs for you when you attend your next meeting. I ordered them according to what people wanted on their badges, so I hope they are correct. If any changes, please let me know and I can reorder. If there was not a number on your old badge, then your new badge will be set on the side. Pick a number and we can put it on the badge for the future. I also made note of each member who has held the "President" position in the past. Do you know we have 20 past presidents that are still members of our club? Pretty impressive!

Have a great week. See you Tuesday!

In Peace and Service,

Sheila McNeill
President 2013-14
