Good day to all!

I hope you have enjoyed the Olympics and now the final closing ceremonies this evening. Now what will we do for the rest of this winter? Hopefully, no more shoveling?

Last week, we got to hear from our Superintendent of schools and fellow Rotarian, Rod Thompson about the "State of the District" and the upcoming referendum on March 11. He brought along many of his experts to answer questions as well. The presentation was informative and welcomed by our members for sure.  We also were happy to recognize the January Student of the month for Tokata Learning Center. Cyane Simone was given recognition for her achievements at the Learning Center and a perfect 4.0 GPA was noted by her guest and mentor, Art teacher, David Frolich.

This week we are happy to welcome our mayor of Shakopee, Mr. Brad Tabke. Mark McNeill will introduce Brad and we look forward to hearing his "State of Shakopee" address and learn more about all that is currently happening in the City. I am sure it will be a presentation  you won't want to miss, so come on out and join us this Tuesday to listen to what Brad has to say.  You will be greeted again this week by John Crooks, Deb Erickson and Barb Danielson. Our Finemaster this week is Bill Wermerskirchen and our Songmasters will be the duo of Mark McNeill and Ed Shukle.

Reminder:  Jeff Tate has bins available for the Book Sale collections. He will bring some to the meeting again this week so make sure you connect with him to get your bins. Libby Bergen has a list of all the bins so be sure your name and number of bins is on her list.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  Dave Paradise is planning for us this year another Wine and Cheese night with Chaska Club at Dolce Vita from 5-7PM on Wednesday, March 26. Please come and share some good wine and foods with our nearby fellow Rotarians.

In Peace and Service,

Sheila McNeill
President, 2013-14
