At our Tuesday meeting, September 16, 2018, we had the privilege of hearing from our current Youth Exchange Student, Juul Wallraf.  He shared with us a little about himself and where he is from in Belgium.  We are looking forward to having him here for the school year and the opportunity to share our traditions and fun, Minnesota experiences with him.  Thank you to the three families who will be hosting him this 2018/2019 school year.

During that meeting, we also got to hear from Carl Mattfeld, the German exchange student who was in Shakopee during the 2004-2005 school year.  Carl now lives and works in New York, for a thriving young company, and enjoys being a part of the United States culture, while still keeping his citizenship in Germany. Carl shared how much the Rotary Youth Exchange Program made a difference in his life.  He is grateful for the experience.  So much so, that he donated $500 to the Rotary Foundation!  We are also appreciative of him and the difference he is making both locally and internationally.
