On Tuesday, May 12 Our Club was introduced to this year's STRIVE (Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education) scholarship recipients. Raul Rehnborg, who leads STRIVE gave a great presentation to the Club highlighting the program this year. With so much going on in Minnesota and Homeland Security this year the high school students were particularly challenged with changes in schedules, missing classes, etc.
The four scholarship recipients this year are Llamo Abdulkadir, Mylin Farias, Jazmine Garcia and Aiden Will. These students were each awarded $1,000 and three of them will receive a 100% match from Normandale and Hennepin Tech so they will double the value of their scholarships!
The Club members were rewarded with presentations from each of the recipients who shared their heartfelt words of appreciation and how much STRIVE has helped them this year and beyond.
