Weekly Update - Shakopee Rotary

Hello Shakopee Rotary! 

I want to thank Harold Armstrong for stepping up in a moment of crisis and delivering a fantastic follow up to his program on the history of the NFL.  Going forward, Harold will be referred to as "Mr. Clutch"!  Thanks again Harold.  This week, as promised, we have another excellent program lined up.  We welcome Tom Melchior, courtesy of Kathy Klehr, who will be speaking on his book "Never Forgotten", and his experiences conducting interviews with Scott County WWII Veterans.  Welcome Tom!  

 

STRIVE:  Reminder, STRIVE meets this week on Wednesday, Feb 2nd, 1st hour at the SHS lecture hall.  Mark Aasve will be presenting the program. 

Valentines Day Dinner:  Reminder that our annual Valentines Day dinner is coming up on Tuesday, February 15th.  This event will replace our regularly scheduled meeting.  A sign up sheet will be passed around at the next meeting, OR you can call or email Kathy Klehr if you would like to sign up!  

Lunch Punch Cards:  Reminder that punch cards are now available for purchase with the Seargent at Arms.  10 punches for $125 (reduced from $130).  This is not a "limited time offer"....it is a permanent change to the price for the punch cards. 

Fireside Meeting:  Our club will be holding our next fireside meeting for newer members (however everyone is invited to attend) on Thursday, February 10th @ 7:30AM at Joan Lynch's home.   

Happy Hour:  Thank you to all of those who attended our first quarterly happy hour at Arizona's last Wednesday!  There was a lot of laughter (some tears....when I stubbed my toe!), and a great chance for our members to enjoy conversations outside of our regularly scheduled meeting.

2.  February 15th:  Valentines Social Event - Held in Evening in place of regular weekly club meeting (Stonebrooke) 

 

3.  February 22nd:  When Work Works - Kathy Kacher (Dangerfields) 

 

4.  March 25-27 & April 1-3:  Book Sale Dates.  Mark you calendar, more details to follow.   

 

5.  April 26th:  Shakopee Celebrates Reading (More details to come)

 

6.  April:  Trip to the Science Museum (More details to come) 

 

7.  June:  Twins Game  (More details to come)
