Happy Sunday to all!

Last week Lorri Helkamp introduced Scott Welle who spoke about 10 things we can do to better health, happiness and high performance. Scott had some interesting and helpful tips on a variety of things related to getting us up and out of our chairs and thinking positive thoughts for better mental and physical awareness. Thanks Lorri for bringing Scott to our club.  We also want to thank Angie Whitcomb who purchased the Saints Foundation Table of 8 for the upcoming Foundation gala for the hospital. Her bid of $500 will help out our operating funds and various programs that are not supported by donations. I am sure she will find 8 other people willing to share that great table space with her.  Also, Jim Conway announced the birth of his first child and daughter "Lucy" at Brag and Share. Congratulations to Jim and his wife,  Amy.

Also, if you have not picked up your envelope for this year's Rotary Foundation they will be available again this week at the Greeters Table.  We are really hopeful this year that the "Every Rotarian Every Year"  will resonate with each and every individual in our club.  No matter the donation size, it would be awesome if our club could be a leader in the effort to get every member to give "something" to the Foundation. If every Rotarian in District 5950 gave something to the Foundation, we would hit the goal of a million dollars for sure. So, please take a moment to make a donation of some amount to the Shakopee Rotary Foundation. As Art Quinn and Chuck Berg pointed out it goes to so many worthwhile projects at both the local and national level and such an easy way for you to extend your influence and help others that need it. Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation in this year's drive for the Shakopee Rotary Foundation.

This week we welcome Amy McGarness who will speak to us about the River Valley Theater Company. Our Songmaster this week is new dad,  Jim Conway.  Finemaster will be the ultimate Irishman, Bill Nevin. Our Greeters table will be run by two great ladies, Barb Danielson and Angie Whitcomb.

REMINDER: Tuesday, November 12 is the auction.  Please start thinking of items  you can bring so we can have a very successful auction this year. Be creative, and bake, or offer a service or a meal or help to others. Start gathering ideas and bring your donations on the 12th. We will meet at Arizona's on that day too.

In Rotary Peace and Service.

Sheila McNeill
President 2013-14
